Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect only what we need to run UtiliLeads. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.

1. Who We Are

UtiliLeads ("we", "our", "us") is a B2B lead generation platform that helps digital marketing agencies and sales teams find local business prospects using publicly available data from Google Maps, Yelp, and OpenStreetMap.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the service.

Account information

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Company name
  • Password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store your plain-text password)
  • Google account ID and profile name, if you sign in with Google
  • Referral or invitation code, if you used one at sign-up
  • How you heard about us (optional, self-reported)
  • Marketing communication preference (opt-in/out)

Billing information

  • Subscription plan and status
  • Credit balance and transaction history
  • PayPal subscription and order IDs (PayPal processes card/bank details — we never see or store raw payment information)

Usage information

  • Search queries you run
  • Leads you view and enrich
  • Feature interactions (e.g. AI search, export)
  • Last login timestamp

Technical information

  • IP address (used for rate limiting and security; not stored long-term)
  • Browser type and version (standard web server logs)
  • Authentication tokens stored in your browser's local storage

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the service — run searches, display results, manage your account and subscription
  • Authentication and security — verify your identity, send one-time password codes, detect and prevent abuse
  • Billing — process subscription payments and credit purchases via PayPal, send invoices
  • Transactional emails — OTP codes, account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts
  • Product updates — if you opted in, occasional emails about new features and tips (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Service improvement — aggregate, anonymised analytics to understand how features are used
  • Legal compliance — fraud prevention, responding to lawful requests

4. Third-Party Services & Tracking Tools

We use a small number of trusted third-party providers to run UtiliLeads:

  • Google Maps Platform — powers location-based business search. Your search queries are sent to Google's API. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Gemini (AI) — processes natural-language search queries, enriches lead data, and generates AI campaign scripts. Only your search prompt or lead business name is sent; no personal account data is included.
  • Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on this marketing website to understand how visitors find and navigate our pages. GA4 collects anonymised data including page views, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic location (country/city level). Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • PayPal — handles subscription billing and credit purchases. We store only the PayPal subscription/order ID, never your card or bank details. PayPal's privacy policy: paypal.com/privacy
  • Resend — our transactional email provider. Your email address and name are shared with Resend to deliver OTP codes and account emails. Resend's privacy policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

We do not use advertising networks, social media retargeting, or third-party audience trackers. We do not share your personal data with any third-party analytics providers in a way that identifies you.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

UtiliLeads uses a combination of necessary cookies / local storage and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) on the marketing website only. The logged-in application does not use any third-party analytics cookies.

Necessary (always active)

  • Authentication token — stored in local storage to keep you signed in. Expires after 7 days.
  • UI preferences — colour palette and other display settings stored in local storage.
  • Cookie consent — a single flag stored in local storage to remember that you dismissed this notice.

Analytics (marketing website only)

  • _ga, _ga_*, _gid — Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish users and sessions on the marketing website (utilileads.com). These cookies expire between 24 hours and 2 years. They do not collect personally identifiable information.

When you visit our marketing website for the first time, we show a cookie notice informing you of our analytics cookies. By continuing to use the site, you accept this use. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or using the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on linked above.

You can clear all stored data at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings.

6. Data Retention

  • Active accounts — your data is kept for as long as your account is active.
  • Deactivated accounts — when you delete your account we immediately deactivate it. Your data is permanently deleted after a 60-day grace period, during which you can reactivate by logging back in.
  • Billing records — PayPal transaction IDs may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes, even after account deletion.
  • Server logs — standard web server access logs are rotated and purged automatically.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — update your name, email, or company name from your account settings at any time
  • Deletion — delete your account from account settings; permanent deletion happens after the 60-day grace period
  • Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or from your account settings
  • Data portability — request an export of your data by emailing privacy@utilileads.com

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Passwords stored as bcrypt hashes (never in plain text)
  • HTTPS enforced on all endpoints
  • Rate limiting on authentication and sensitive API endpoints to prevent brute-force and denial-of-service attacks
  • Optional two-factor authentication (2FA) via email OTP
  • Separation of production and development environments

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly by emailing security@utilileads.com.

9. Children's Privacy

UtiliLeads is a professional B2B tool intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of UtiliLeads after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
